eBay Listing Photo Checker

Check listing photos before you upload them: at least 500 px so eBay accepts them, about 1600 px so buyers can zoom, a square frame, and an item that is large enough to read in search.

eBay rejects photos under 500 px on the longest side and recommends about 1600 px for zoom. White is not required for every category, so a non-white background is a review, not a failure. Borders, text and added artwork are not allowed.

  1. Choose a category

    Standard, Apparel or Shoes.

  2. Drop the photos

Add up to 40 listing photos. Nothing is uploaded.

  3. Fix what failed

Use the free eBay resizer for size. Each failed row says what to change.

The checks

Size fails under 500 px, warns under 1600 px, and passes at 1600 px or more. Files over 12 MB fail. A square is recommended. If the item fills less than half the frame, the checker asks you to give it more of the photo. Apparel and shoe categories use the same extra checks as the Amazon checker.

What it cannot check

It cannot see borders drawn in the same color as the background, or whether the photo shows the real item. Check eBay's photo policy for your category.

What size should eBay photos be?

At least 500 px on the longest side. About 1600 px is the size that turns on zoom.

Does eBay require a white background?

Not for every category. This checker warns when the border is not pure white, and it does not fail the image for that alone.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Every check runs in your browser.

Is the checker affiliated with eBay?

No. MiniMaxVion is an independent studio. eBay is a trademark of eBay Inc.
