Shopify image size
Shopify recommends 2048 × 2048 px for square product images. It looks sharp on large screens and when zoomed, and Shopify creates the smaller sizes your theme needs. Shopify accepts images up to 5000 × 5000 px and 20 MB, so there is no benefit to going larger for product photos.
Keep your collection grid even
- Use one ratio for every product, usually square
- Use the same margin, so products look the same size next to each other
- Keep the first image on a clean background and save scenes for later slots
- Pick one background color for the whole store
Brand-colored backgrounds
White is the safe default, but a soft brand color can make a store feel more designed. Choose Custom color and enter your hex value. It works best when the original photo was shot on white or a plain background so the trim finds the product edges.
